Tater Tot Hotdish with #75 from James

Tater Tot Hotdish with #75 from James

1  small yellow onion
2 cloves garlic
1 tblsp unsalted butter or olive oil
1 lb ground beef
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
10 oz can cream of mushroom soup
1 tsp Fortner's Famous #75
1 large bag frozen tater tots.
1 teaspoon all purpose flour.
Begin by heating a large skillet over medium low heat. Add oil or  butter, along with finely diced onion and garlic. Slowly heat until onions and garlic become light brown as they  caramelize. Add ground beef, worcestershire sauce, and black pepper. I added 1/2 teaspoon of Fortner's #75 at this time also. Continue on medium heat until beef is fully cooked. Add 1 tsp flour to absorb fat from beef and help the gravy to thicken. If too thick, add a small amount of beef broth.

Add cream mushroom soup and frozen mixed vegetables, and remaining 1/2 tsp Fortner's #75. Mix gently, and cook over medium  heat for about 5 more minutes.
Pour into 8 x 12 inch baking dish. Layer with cheese (we like American and colby jack).
Top with tater tots.  We also sprinkled a dash of #75 on the top. Bake 425º for 30 minutes or until the tots are golden brown on top.
